OUR STORY

NCAA All-American, former D1 Wrestling Coach, and West Virginia Mountaineer, Coach Jim Akerly founded the Quest School of Wrestling in 2001.  It was one of the first clubs in the area when Coach Akerly started off, and it quickly became one of the best.  It is a known respected brand, and as such, has a large loyal membership base.  Our wrestling family has come to expect the best partners, training, and competition from Quest, and with the talent in the club today, the caliber of our program steadily grows.

The Quest School of Wrestling has developed and mentored some of the best high school wrestlers in the country.  These wrestlers have soared off our mats and onward, to some of the best colleges in the country, while collecting countless state championships and medals.  Coach Akerly’s goal is to inspire his athletes to be the best Person. Student. Athlete, they can be!  As such, the practice room is always full of great role models and inspirational former Quest wrestlers.

Coach Akerly's laser focus on the fundamentals ensures that his athletes can perform consistently on the mat!  There is no easy way to win - we all get lumps - get knocked down a few times - but with a commitment to the program he has established, soon the wins will happen and your wrestlers' goals will be achieved.

"All I have is ALL I need...I'm coming after everything you said I could not have, for, I am not the wolf on the hill, I am the wolf climbing the hill."
